I Found Him!

It is a huge, spacious hall, something like a concert hall or a reception hall. I see a large crowd and equally large chatter. The atmosphere is mystic, but I'm clueless what's happening. I look all around. In the crowd I see people. I recognize some faces; they are the people I know. Some are strangers too. I see people from my distant past. I also see people from my recent past. There are less or almost no people from my present. I try to relax, I stretch my brain to get the point of the event. I want to know what the event is. I have reached at this place by bus with loads of others. We all are sitting crossed legs on the floor of that gigantic hall. I don't know if colour of the walls is white or some other shade. I wait patiently and suddenly...

Teri kismat tu badal de
Rakh himmat bus chal de
Tera saathi, mere kadmon ke hain nishan
He is standing in the middle of the crowd. He is tall with long hair... long curly hair... long curly messy hair. He hasn't parted his hair; his hairline is thin at the temples. His nose is big and personality charismatic. His face is angelic embellished with thick moustache. He is dressed in white. I am not able to see clearly exactly what He is wearing, but I guess it's a long white robe. He is not an ordinary man. Everyone in the hall is gathered to see him once. I am thinking nothing, neither my mind is blank. My eyes are fixed on Him, on his image, on his persona, on his charm... on his divine appearance. My eyes are glued on Him.

Khud pey daal tu nazar
Halaton se haar kar
Kahan chala re
Haath ki lakeer ko
Modhta marodhta hai hosla re
To khud tere khawabon key rang mein
Tu apne jahan ko bhi rang de
Ke chalta hoon main tere sang mein
Ho shaam bhi toh kya
Now everyone is waving hands at Him and He's waving back. I wave too and suddenly his eyes meet with mine eyes. I keep waving at him, and for a brief moment I feel that the whole crowd has disappeared or blurred. Now, He is waving just at me, I can sense the white and pure aura that surrounds him. Is He glowing or I'm having an illusion of the glow. At this point, I see him disassembling the Marigolds in his hand, He sprinkles the petals aimlessly, and for my amusement all those petals land on my head. I am feeling blessed... divine... the entire experience is so enchanting. I am blessed by... by whom?

Dhundhla jaayein jo manzilein
Ek pal ko tu nazar jhuka
Jhuk jaye sar jahan wahi
Milta hain rab ka rasta
I cannot see Him anymore. One by one the entire crowd exits. I am alone in that titanic hall. I am blank. Someone approaches me... a lady... she says, "Why are you here? Haven't you got your role yet?" She asks a girl standing next to her to handover a note to me, and the girl obeys. The note has something scribbled on it. It is about the role that I have to perform. I leave the hall with the note. I enter one building, it is not a tall one, but still it has an elevator. There are three people apart from me waiting for the elevator. But only two of us enter, and I think, "Why the two of us are in the elevator when there is space for four." The elevator stops at its destination, I slide open the iron barriers. I am about to step out... and... and...

Jab hoga andhera
Tab payega dar mera
Uss dar pe phir hogi teri subah
And I open my eyes, my head is heavy... I am still feeling blessed but really heavy. I hold my head and get up. It's one of the lazy Sunday afternoons. I search for my Blackberry... battery is completely drained. It's 1.05 PM. Now I am completely awake. I brush my teeth, grab my laptop, and Google the name... the name of The Figure I think appeared in my dream. I click on the link... the link is actually His name... The first thing that grabs my eyes is a quote, the quote by him, "All seek me, but just few find me."

Ho humsafar na tera jab koi
Tu ho jahan, rahoonga main wahi
tujhse kabhi na ek pal bhi main judaTu na jaane aas paas hai Khuda!

The Making of Purples & Maroons!

This is the very first post of this blog... of Purples & Maroons. WHY PURPLES & MAROONS? Hmm... The story behind choosing this name for my third blog is quite long, and I'm not going into details. Instead, I would prefer to give you the gist. Well, Purple and Maroon are the interesting hues. Let's see... umm... Purple is a peppy color, little girly, next choice after pink, lively yet smooth, vivacious and... and, yes, and cute, so full of life.

On the other hand, Maroon... umm... what does pop up in mind when we think of Maroon? A color that is dark reddish brown to dark purplish red, or we often use the word to refer to someone or something that is marooned. In short and sweet, Maroon is something dull and lifeless, but yet a part of life. Purple and Maroon could be the positive and negative forces in life.

Though this could be an attempt to actually decode the hidden meaning of the title, the actual meaning is coming from something else. Purple symbolizes periwinkle flowers blessed with purplish pinkish velvety petals. The delicate personality and cuteness of these flowers always stunned me. They are simple, and unlike roses and lavenders, lack fragrance. But somehow and always they have been able to mesmerize my senses for reason - 'unknown'.

In Marathi Periwinkle or Vinca is known as Sadafuli (meaning: something that blooms all the time) and for me happiness is as pure and purple, and as precious as a periwinkle. Periwinkles are forever.

Now, coming to another hue, Maroon. Well, that was the shade of a shirt, yes, the shirt with half sleeves. The Maroon shirt that made SRK look awesomely handsome and cute in DDLJ. And that's the story. that's it!

So, Purple and Maroon are two colors, two moods that swing, two feelings both happy and sad, two vibrations both positive and negative, two things one living and one material - A purple blossom and a half-sleeve shirt.

And therefore, the shades of Purple and Maroon define me, complete me and make me what I AM.
